Our client is Logistics specialized in the supply of the complete range of logistics services and end-to-end supply chain management solutions.

Job Function:
Manage all aspects of the supply chain of one of the Comapny's operating divisions including but not limited to assisting in the creation and effecting the implementation of strategic plans, ensuring the achievement of continuous improvement, operational excellence, achievement of budgeted profits, overall growth, sustainability and creating and maintaining sound relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
The division involves multiple customer contracts nationally with 137,000m² of warehousing, a fleet of 310 vehicles and a staff compliment of 780. The division has a turnover of R940m per annum and manages asset with a value of R272m.

Key Performance Areas
1. Participating in the formulation of and successfully implementation of group, division and company strategy and policy.
2. Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the business.
3. Developing strategic plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities established by division and group;
4. Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the Managing Director of the company;
5. Putting in place adequate operational planning and control systems;
6. Ensuring that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by management and other employees;
7. Closely monitoring the operating and financial results against plans and budgets;
8. Taking remedial action where necessary and informing the board of significant changes;
9. Maintaining the operational performance of the division;
10. Assuming full accountability to the board of directors of divisional operations under his/her responsibility;
11. Representing The Company at clients and maintaining sound relationships;
12. Manage revenue trends at various levels and drive agreed growth strategies
13. Continual drive on costs management through continuous improvement strategies
14. Analyze, interpret and report on monthly income statements of the various operations within the division
15. Providing operational leadership.
16. Ensure the functionality and sustainability of these operations

Qualifications Required
• Bachelor`s Degrees and/or Advanced Diplomas

Skills and Experience Required:
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience at a senior management level within a general freight / supply chain or logistics environment
• Strong Warehouse Management skills
• Operational strength and track record
• Excellent communication skills and networking ability
• Commercial, budgeting and forecasting acumen with analytical ability
• Candidates must have excellent leadership skills and must demonstrate a management style which is strongly focused on efficiencies, compliance and leadership.
• Thorough knowledge of operational systems, policies and procedures
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Office
• Aptitude to work with IT systems
• Working knowledge of relevant IR legislation and BC agreement
• Working knowledge of relevant technical requirements of material handling equipment, fleet and warehouses
• Knowledge and awareness of developments and trends within the Logistics field
• Ability to compile a strategic business plan and financial budget
• Ability to interpret financial information
