THE PERSON REQUIRED WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING GENERAL ATTRIBUTES:
  • STRONG LEADERSHIP QUALITIES AND CONFIDENCE IN THEIR OWN KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITY
  • DRIVEN TO CREATE A SAFE FOOD ENVIRONMENT AS REGARDS INGREDIENTS, PROCESS, QUALITY AND UPHOLDING CERTIFICATION, ACCURATE LABELLING AND INVOLVEMENT IN NPD PROJECTS RECORDING ALL STEPS AND PROCESSES DEVELOPED AND PERFECTED.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITY TO WRITE SOP AND PROCESS FLOW
  • EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRINCIPLES OF THE VARIOUS FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATIONS.
  • ABILITY TO CONTROL AND KEEP IN PERFECT ORDER ALL OF THE CERTIFICATES OF ANALYSIS FOR EVERY PRODUCT PRODUCED … TRACKING CHANGES TO INGREDIENTS, PROCESS, NUTRITIONALS AND PACKAGING.
  • RAW MATERIAL CONTROLS …FIFO, MEETING SPECIFICATION, COA’S ORIGIN….. TRACEABILITY, STIPULATED REQUIREMENT OF THE RM.
  • PATHOGEN TESTING, NUTRITIONAL TESTING,
  • MANAGE CONFORMANCE TO TASTE, TEXTURE AND APPEARANCE
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MINIMUM HIGHER QUALIFICATION: B TECH FOOD TECHNOLOGY PLUS SOME ADDED SPECIALITY FOR 2 YEARS
  • MINIMUM 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE IN A WET FOOD ENVIRONMENT WHERE MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE, TEMPERATURE CONTROL EITHER FROZEN OR CHILLED IS THE FINAL STATE OF THE PRODUCTS. (BLENDING POWDERS IS NOT SUFFICIENT IN TERMS OF EXPERIENCE).
  • SOME PROVEN ABILITY TO INVESTIGATE PROCESS PLANT AND EXECUTE A PLANNED LINE UP TO AND INCLUDING TRIAL RUNS AND FINAL FULL PRODUCTION.
THIS PERSON WILL DEVELOP THEIR OWN TEAM AND ULTIMATELY ANSWER TO THE GENERAL MANAGER, THE DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, OR THE CEO
