Objective
Strategic supplier management to ensure that we minimize risks to the brands, while maximizing efficiencies with our supply partners. Innovation is key to build strong, secure supply chain partnerships within our group to the benefit of development and continuous improvement.
Functions
  • Total supply chain responsibility from raw materials, manufacture, distributor, restaurant through to consumers
  • Negotiations with suppliers with regard costs, supply and quality
  • Capability assessments, together with evaluation of potential new suppliers
  • Performance assessments, and decision making with regards optimum supply strategy for the group
  • Daily, forecasting, planning, stock management ensuring that stock out and overstocks are minimized
  • Ad hoc projects, i.e. new product development, tenders for new suppliers, IT systems, VAC promotions
  • Communication to all internal and external stake holders with regards to any queries relating to product, or procurement related issues
  • Operational support with regards any procurement related issues
  • Daily administration of contract management of new & existing supply partners 
  • Administration functions, including, but not limited to, product data sheets, costing & volume history, publishing project timelines & follow up, maintaining all BEE status share certificates, supplier and product data base, extranet articles, etc
  • Preparation of documents for monthly meeting with internal, external customers and franchisees,
  • Liaising with customers (area managers, store management, franchisees) regarding stock availability, supplier details, etc
  • Tracking & publishing of commodities, and  currencies, and relevant market conditions relevant to procurement
  • Manage budgets, expense & revenue control, market trends & research, analyzing competitors, etc
 
Qualities required in person
  • Matric plus degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, B Comm, or similar
  • Operational understanding of restaurants.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Exposure to FMCG supply chain, buying, planning, storing etc.
  • Valid drivers license with own transport
  • Attention to detail, objective, structured, process driven, extremely organized.
  • Customer focused, work well under pressure.
  • Extremely organized and self disciplined
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Have a commercial background, with 5 – 6 years’ experience
  • Preferably have knowledge of logistics, food and meat industry.
Includes cost of compulsory medical aid and provident fund.
No guaranteed bonus or thirteenth cheque.
