Purpose of the role:
The Scrum Master is to provide “servant” leadership to the development & DBA teams by coaching them in and instilling Agile principles and values.
Facilitate meetings and ensure mandatory ceremonies are done and timeboxed.
Timebox, prioritise and allocate tasks.   Highlight blockers or impediments that hinder project progress and raise these with the relevant stakeholders to remove them.  The Scrum Master is a key player in ensuring the smooth delivery of working software at a sustainable pace indefinitely.  Monitoring the progress of the sprint & help team estimate and increase velocity.  Ensure quality work is delivered as requested and on time.
Manage, coordinate and facilitate cross team dependencies and timings.
Support the Product Owner/s and BA/s daily and often act as the single point of contact to the development team.
Providing a supportive environment for developers and maintaining team morale is an essential part of the role.
Manage budgets of consultants, vendors and cost centres.
Report to IT leadership on progress.
Manage Change Control and Demand management process.
 
Requirements:
  • 2 year or more years’ experience as a scrum master or project coordinator in small software companies (ideally experience with teams of no bigger than 20) with Agile practices.
  • Experience of implementing Agile methodology in small teams
  • At least 3 years’ experience as an IT project manager
  • Good understanding of SDLC
  • A Scrum Master qualification or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated and enthusiastic approach to problem solving and collaborating with team members.
  • Setting up and running all scrum ceremonies
  • Mentoring team members in scrum process
  • Managing the resolution of impediments, and escalating when necessary
  • Monitoring and reporting on team velocity and efficiency
 
This position is based at the Century City office, and you would have to be willing to re-locate yourself should you wish to apply for the position.
