A well-known successful manufacturing company with products such as white oils, paraffin waxes, base oils and specialty petrochemical products has a vacancy for a Business Manager.

The position is based in Durban with a customer base across South Africa.
The role has primary responsibility for all sales activity for assigned product streams and manages the full business relationship with actual customers.
Also Identifies potential customers and converts potential to actual customers
And identifies opportunities for new products, applications etc.
Through working with other functional teams they will optimise the business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage existing customers
  • Maintaining and developing a positive relationship
  • Manage to price to customers
  • Develop customer buying to grow business through expanded product offering
  • Payment collection and compliance with credit policies
  • Manage customer quality requirements
Bring new customers on board
  • Through a variety of channels identify new customer leads
  • Engage with potential customers and convert to buyers
  • Identify new market opportunities
    • Customer intelligence
    • Competitor information
    • Market trends
  • Working relationship with other functional teams
  • At all times work in compliance with statutory laws and company policies and procedures

Qualifications :
  • Relevant technical degree (Chemistry/Chem.Eng.) and preferably also a Business/commercial qualification
  • Min of 3 years Technical sales experience, pref in Petrochemical industry.
  • Report Writing and Presentation skills are a prerequisite.
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Competent in CRM, ERP systems (JDE, SAP)
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office, Excel and Powerpoint.
Valid Driver’s license.
