Automation and Process control sales engineer

•             The Sales Representative will wear multiple hats, performing roles of sales engineer, relationship manager, visionary strategist, technical expert as well as business development and marketing
•             Min 5 sales experience in the automation and or process control environment.
•             Manage product performance: sales, margin, forecasting and reporting.
•             Needs to be the expert when it comes to the range of products, as well as the competition
•             Gather market information, direction of the industry and threats / opportunities to the product
•             Identify & present innovative and creative application solutions.
•             Project management of all product integration / launches / changes throughout implementation.
•             Must be comfortable giving presentations, hands on demonstrations and training customers.
•             Assist marketing department on product launches and product related activities / events
•             Work with marketing department to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
•             Manage key accounts
•             Formalize product strategies with clients
•             Weekly sales reports for the management team
•             Will be expected to work towards a sales target
•             Managing the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
•             Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
•             Understanding the customers processors and maintain relationships on all levels involved with management of complex sales i.e. Engineers, managers, financial department, procurement.
•             Assisting with the developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to      execute.
•             Identifying and analysing potential partner relationships including resellers and potential new principle suppliers.
•             Adhere to Corporate Compliance Policy
•             Meet / Exceed and maintain service levels as assigned by management
•             Sell existing product  and services as well as create and integrate new products and product changes
•             Typical work experience for companies such as Banner, SICK, E&H, Siemans, ABB, Cognex, OEM machine builders etc
Qualifications and attributes:
•             Minimum matric with some form of secondary education in the electronics or instrumentation fields.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•             Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
•             Project management skills
•             Well versed in automation and or process control.
•             5 years sales experience with a proven track record.
•             Dynamic with a natural flare for technical solutions.
•             A lateral thinker capable of thinking out the box.
•             Group facilitation skills (cross selling of different departments within the group)
•             Time management skills
•             Problem solving & Analytical skills
•             Ability to be pro-active with a sense of urgency
•             Be a self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast paced environment that changes continuously
•             Target focused

•             Capable with report writing

•             Must have a proven sales track record
