Human Resources Development Manager
The key role is to provide day-to-day guidance to the team and management as well as strategic input and direction on all HRD matters. You will develop and implement training strategy, implement Standard-based Training Methodology and supporting systems (INX), as well as implement and maintain competency-based models. Further responsibilities include pipeline needs analysis and training (Apprentices, Learner Steelmakers, Engineers and Technicians in Training, etc), study grants, external and internal courses implementation, workplace accreditation and acting as the Skills Development Facilitator for Columbus. Facilitating annual submission of Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report, training service provider identification and management and managing the training budget will also form part of your duties, along with developing and implementing the Management Development Programmes as well as managing and coaching training practitioners.
To be considered for this position you would need to meet the following criteria:
  • You need a postgraduate degree in Psychology or Industrial Psychology (BA or BCom),
  • Education (BEd (Hons) (an additional Engineering diploma/Trade Test/Production qualification or an MDP will be an added advantage).
  • The position requires 8-10 years’ relevant training, business/industry training experience of which at least 5-7 years must have been spent at Senior Training or HRD level.
  • Experience obtained in a heavy engineering or mining environment will be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of finance as well as advanced skills in Microsoft packages, especially Excel is essential.
  • You must have fulfilled a role of Skills Development Facilitator and be in possession of advanced skills development legislation and SETAs knowledge
  • Management experience will be an absolute necessity.
  • You must be able to travel extensively and play an active role in Merseta initiatives
