Description
The individual will have responsibility, under the supervision of the Group Management Accountant, for the Group’s consolidated management accounts, capital budgets and operational forecasts and will have significant involvement in financial analysis and review of the Group’s subsidiaries. The role will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Group Management Accountant, Members of Group Finance and Regional Financial Officers.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly group management accounts under IFRS
  • Management and improvement of group consolidation system
  • Analysis of monthly management reporting from the Group’s subsidiaries
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for head office companies
  • Tax return preparation and submission for head office companies
  • Assistance with preparation of consolidated group financial statements and interim reports under IFRS
  • Main finance contact for Regional financial officers and controllers
  • Involvement in capital budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Balance sheet and cash flow forecast modelling
  • Accounting systems and processes improvement
  • Assistance with integration of acquisitions
  • Involvement in acquisition planning and modelling
  • Cash and liquidity management incl assistance in debt reductions and debt management strategies
  • Developing and maintaining business reports (Tagetik)
  • Other Ad hoc duties
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Accredited AGA (S.A.) or equivalent
  • Accounting degree – preferably Honours level
  • Completed training contract
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Highly numeric/strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced level spreadsheet skills and PC literacy
  • Knowledge of Tagetik, Greatplains and Tourplan would be an advantage
  • Solid understanding of IFRS
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of accounting
  • Strong academic record
