A vacancy  With our Client has become available in their Cape Town office for the Supply Chain team.
 

Objective

Strategic supplier management to ensure that we minimize risks to the brands, while maximizing efficiencies with our supply partners.
 
Functions
  • Total supply chain responsibility from raw materials, manufacture, distributor, restaurant through to consumers
  • Negotiations with suppliers with regard costs, supply and quality
  • Capability assessments, together with evaluation of potential new  suppliers
  • Performance assessments, and decision making with regards optimum supply strategy for thegroup
  • Daily, forecasting, planning, stock management ensuring that stock out and overstocks  areminimized
  • Ad hoc projects, i.e. new product development, tenders for new suppliers, IT systems, VAC promotions
  • Communication to all internal and external stake holders with regards to any queries relating to product, or procurement  related  issues
  • Operational support with regards any procurement  related issues
  • Daily administration of contract management of new & existing supply partners 
  • Product KPI assessments
  • Preparation of  documents for  monthly  meeting with  internal,  external customers and franchisees,
  • Liaising with customers (area managers, store management, franchisees) regarding stock availability, supplier details, etc
  • Tracking  &  publishing  of commodities, and currencies,  and relevant marketconditions  relevant toprocurement
  • Manage budgets, expense & revenue control, market trends &  research, analyzing  competitors,etc
 

Qualities required in person

  • Tertiary qualification in supply chain, procurement or food  technology.
  • Minimum    5    years     business     negotiations    experience     with    external stakeholders
  • Operational understanding of restaurants preferable.
  • Background in seafood will be an advantage.
  • Be well presented, with strong communication skills.
  •  Excellent written and spoken English
  • Extensive exposure to supply chain, buying, demand planning, etc.  
  • Valid driver’s license with own transport
  • Attention   to  detail,    objective,     structured,     process  driven,   extremely organized.
  • Customer focused, work well under pressure.      
  • Extremely organized
  • Primarily self-motivated  andself-disciplined
  • Willing and able to work overtime, at weekends,  etc. as required
  • Have a commercial background with at least 5 years' experience in FMCG sector.
 
Includes cost of compulsory medical aid and provident fund. No guaranteed bonus or thirteenth cheque.
