Our Client (Consulting) is searching for an Electronic/Computer Engineer to join their dynamic team of consultants in the supervision and management of the Road Side System (eToll gantries) as part of the Gauteng eToll Project to look after the interests of their Client (SANRAL). The candidate should demonstrate sufficient experience to comply with the requirements and job description listed below.

Interpersonal Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to function effectively in a team environment
• Ability to effectively engage with Contractor and Client
• Excellent written skills

Technical Requirements:
• Perl scripting language (advantageous)
• Other programming experience (required)
• Database/SQL (advantageous)
• Microsoft Excel advanced level, including VBA (required)
• Knowledge or experience with wireless identification/application technologies (DSRC/RFID)
• Knowledge or experience with complex system integration (Tolling System knowledge will be
• Network and data security knowledge/experience
• FIDIC contract knowledge or similar will be advantageous
• Compliance verification/testing or QA experience
• Sampling theory/statistical analysis
• Data mining and analysis
• Development of technical specifications and engagement with relevant stakeholders
• Tender submission evaluation (technical)
• Project management experience (advantageous)

Education/Experience Requirements:
• BSc/BEng Computer, Electronic, Electrical engineering degree
• At least 5 years consulting or other relevant experience
• Professional registration would be advantageous

Job Description:
The candidate will be expected to perform functions relating to the day-to-day operation and management of the Road Side System (eToll gantries) as part of the Gauteng eToll system in a supervisory capacity. Tasks will include:
• Operational performance tracking and reporting (daily/monthly)
• Management, tracking, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (monthly)
• Compliance evaluation of functional and technical documentation
• System compliance testing
• Drafting formal correspondence
• Incident data analysis and engagement with the Contractor on resolution and Impact Quantification
• Engagement with representatives from other entities
• Attend meetings with Contractor and Client
• Development and continuous improvement of monitoring/supervisory tools and processes
• Reporting to the System’s and Operations Managers
• Ad hoc tasks as required
The salary for the position will be negotiable, depending upon qualifications and experience
